The Kauai Independent Food Bank’s history became inextricably linked with disaster response after getting its start and playing a critical role in the aftermath of Hurricane Iniki in 1992. Today, we partner with the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and many other agencies to ensure rapid response to the island’s food needs in the wake of any disaster.
