Starting in August 2004, the Kauai Food Bank partnered with the Boys and Girls Club Waimea Clubhouse and the Kauai Children's Discovery Museum to open the first Kids Cafe program in the State of Hawaii. This program provides nutritious after-school "super snacks" for children between the ages of 7 to 17 years old. The Kids Cafe is located in Waimea, Kauai and provides food three times a week. In its first 4 months of operation, the program served 980 children.

The Kids Cafe is in its second year of operation, 2005-2006.
