Starting in August 2004, the Kauai Independent Food Bank partnered with the Boys and Girls Club Waimea Clubhouse and the Kauai Children's Discovery Museum to open the first Keiki Cafe program in the State of Hawaii. This program provides nutritious after-school "super snacks" for children between the ages of 7 to 17 years old. The Keiki Cafe is located in Waimea, Kauai and provides food four times a week throughout the year.

The Keiki Cafe is now in its 7th year of operation.
