In 2007, we began a supplemental nutritional assistance program outreach to secure new and unclaimed food dollars for Kauai. As of 12/2008, this program has brought in over $260,000 in new food stamp dollars for Kauai. We are the only food bank in the State of Hawaii that conducts a formalized food stamp outreach program and provides pre-screening application assistance, and help with documentation.

Within 5 minutes a SNAP Outreach Worker can assist you to find out if you might be eligible for SNAP benefits. If you do Pre-Qualify; they will assist you with filling out this lengthy and sometimes confusing application. If there are other programs that you might qualify for, we will let you know how and where to apply for those programs as well.

**Note: Guidelines have changed so you may qualify now even if you did not in the past. For example, all Retirement and Educational Savings Accounts are now exempt and income guidelines continue to increase.
