KIFB's Backpack Program provides food for keiki over the weekends when school lunches are not available. The Backpack Program began in 2005 after KIFB staff serving healthy snacks at a west side afterschool program observed students "stocking up" on Friday so they would have enough food for the weekend. Today, KIFB delivers backpacks weekly, serving students and their siblings.
